What we keep
What we may keep
- Your account: email, first name, your login and the settings you choose
- Your sleep profile: your answers to the full quiz inside Release PRO, and the result
- Your sleep diary: each night you log, saved with your account
- Night Rescue memory: one short line per night, only if you chose "Let Night Rescue remember my nights"
- Your plan: whether you are in your free week or have an active plan, and until when
- Your email address, if you ask us to send you something or sign up for our emails
What we never keep
- What you tell us in the quiz about what changed in your life, and your final note
- The words you type or speak in Night Rescue
- Your answers to the 2-question quiz on our website: they stay in your own browser
- Anything you tap or tick in a Night Guide
- Your card details: those stay with Stripe
- Anything you choose to skip
In more detail
Your sleep profile. When you take the full quiz inside Release PRO, we save your answers and your result with your account, so you only do it once and your profile page is there on every device. You can take the quiz again anytime; the new result replaces the old one.
Your sleep diary. For each night you log we save: the date, whether it was a work day or a day off, when you got into bed, when you started feeling sleepy, how long it took to fall asleep, whether you were awake in the night, when and how you woke up, how long it took to get out of bed, how you felt, and the bedtime you aimed for. We also save your answers to three short questions about your days (fixed hours or shifts, when you need to be up, and, if you tell us, how much daylight you get). We use this only to show your week and to calculate your personal sleep rhythm.
Notes in your diary ("What was on your mind?") are only kept if you tick "Keep this in my diary", and then only on your own device. They are never sent to us.
Night Rescue reads the few words you give it to choose what will help you tonight. Those words are sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) for that one purpose and are not saved by us. Only if you chose "Let Night Rescue remember my nights" does it keep one short line per night: why you were awake, what it offered, and whether it helped. That line is written by the AI, is never your own words and never a recording. You can read it, switch it off or erase it anytime inside Night Rescue. The voice you hear is a recording we made ourselves.
Our Night Guides. Nothing you do in a Night Guide is sent to us or stored. If you use the reminder, your own device creates the calendar file.
Your sleep data is health data
Your sleep profile, your sleep diary and your Night Rescue lines say something about your sleep and wellbeing. The law treats that as health data, which gets extra protection.
We only save it with your explicit consent. You give that consent with a separate tick box when you create your account. The box is never ticked for you, and without it no account is made.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing support@release-and-dream.com. We then delete your sleep profile, your diary and your Night Rescue lines. Because Release PRO cannot work without them, withdrawing your consent also ends your use of those parts. Withdrawing does not affect what happened before.
For everything else we rely on our agreement with you (your account, your plan and payments), on the law (invoices), or on your consent (emails you signed up for).
Not a diagnosis
Your sleep profile and your personal sleep rhythm are calculated automatically from what you fill in. They are personal guidance only, have no legal or similar effect on you and are not a medical diagnosis.
Night Rescue is an AI, not a person
When Night Rescue reads your words, no human does. An AI model reads them to choose between a few kinds of guidance. It does not diagnose and does not replace a doctor.
Who helps us run this
We work with a small number of companies. They only handle your data on our instructions, under a data processing agreement.
Data outside the EU. Your stored sleep data stays in the EU. Two things can leave it: the technical data a web host needs to show you a page, and the few words you give Night Rescue, which OpenAI processes in the United States. Those transfers are protected by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses in our agreements with these companies. OpenAI does not use what is sent through its service for businesses to train its AI models.
We never sell your data, and we never use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
Your rights
Email support@release-and-dream.com and we take care of it, at the latest within one month. Some things you can do yourself: take the quiz again to replace your profile, change a logged night in your diary, and read, switch off or erase Night Rescue's memory inside Night Rescue.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit), Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, dataprotectionauthority.be.
Cookies and storage on your device
We use no tracking or advertising cookies, and no analytics that follow you. Our fonts and scripts are hosted on our own website. What we do store on your own device is only what the site needs to work:
- Your login, so you stay signed in to Release PRO
- A copy of your sleep profile and diary, so the pages open at once (the saved version lives with your account)
- Your Night Rescue choices, such as whether it may remember your nights
- The result of the 2-question quiz and the bedtime you last picked
You can clear this anytime in your browser settings. When you pay, Stripe opens its own payment page and may set cookies there that it needs for security and fraud prevention.
Questions about your data?
We'd rather you ask than wonder.
